Jain Classes

Jain Classes

The Jain Pathshala class currently offered covers a wide range of topics and Jain ideologies that are catered toward the age demographic of 8-18 years old. This is going to be a long-term running class, as it will be progressively covering more advanced topics, yet it is starting out with beginner-friendly and simple-to-understand mediums of Jain language and concepts, as we have new students joining now. Some topics that will be covered include Jain stutis, sutras, stavans, communication phrases, the meanings behind them, Jain stories, and other topics, such as ahimsa, karma, kaal chakra, moksha, tirthankars, and keval gyaan. To begin, the course will start with easy to learn topics such as the abc’s of Jainism, meanings of sutras such as Navkar mantra and logassa, and even learning to memorize different stutis, and understand the path of Tirthankars and the path to non-violence and how Jainism is led as a lifestyle.

Pathshala is conducted by Ishika Ranka at Mahwah Temple, in classroom #3 (downstairs). Classes take place weekly on Saturdays from 10 AM to 11 AM. To accommodate students traveling from afar, sessions are held in-person and on Zoom on alternate Saturdays.
