India is one of the world’s oldest and most richly diverse civilizations, spanning more than 5000 years. The course introduces the attendees to the rich diversity of India from historical and geographical perspectives. There will be two parts to each Lecture:
Part 1 – History of India
We will cover the major historical milestones, empires, and events from India’s ancient beginnings in the valley of the Indus to current events in the region that have shaped modern India.
We will explore the richness and complexities of Indian history from multiple perspectives and correlate the events with contemporary events in World History.
Part 2 – Travel India
In this part of the course, the attendees will travel across India virtually to explore India’s rich diversity from geographical, historical, cultural and social perspectives.
Each of India’s 28 states and 8 union territories has its distinct history, culture, language, customs, festivals, natural beauty, and important landmarks.
Instructor: Dr. Vikram Khetani
Dr. Vikram Khetani has more than 30 years of experience in the field of healthcare. History and Geography have been his passion since childhood. Although busy pursuing a career in healthcare, he continued his quest for learning and exploration in these fields. Vikram ji also volunteers as a teacher at Vivekananda Vidyapith in Wayne, NJ.
